1st-2nd World Athletics Relays at Silesia, Poland … day 1 heats – women 4x400m AMA PIPI led off on leg 1 handing to Zoey Clarke, Jessie Knight and Jessica Turner as GB & NI won heat 3 to qualify for Sunday’s Final – mixed 4x400m LAVIAI NIELSEN ran on leg 2 with Rabah Yousif, Emily Diamond and Lee Thompson to finish 4th in heat 3 but squeezed Team GB into the Final by a whisker as the slowest losers – men 4x100m SEAN SAFO-ANTWI led Ghana to a finals place finishing 2nd handing the baton to Benjamin Azamuti-Kwaku, Joseph Oduro Manu and Joseph Paol Amoah in a time of 38.79s.
day 2 finals – men 4x100m despite a great opening leg from SEAN SAFO-ANTWI an unchanged Ghanaian team finished 3rd but were disqualified for the second changeover being ‘out of the box’ – women 4x400m LAVIAI NIELSEN on leg 1 and AMA PIPI on leg 2 ran superbly to set up a grandstand finish with Emily Diamond and then Jessie Knight bringing Team GB home in 3rd place (3m 29.27s) narrowly behind Cuba and Poland.

day 1 – women 4x100m BIANCA WILLIAMS on the 3rd leg then DESIREE HENRY on the final leg helped Team GB to victory in 43.36s, leading the team to a winning position at the end of the first day … Beth Dobbin and Imani Lansiquot ran the opening 2 legs.
day 2 – women 4x400m AMA PIPI got Team GB off to a great start on the first leg (52.17s) handing over to Hannah Williams, then Yasmin Liverpool and finally Lina Nielsen for a 2nd placing (3m27.16s) behind winners Poland.
Team GB finished 3rd overall which is their best team performance since 2013.
