The Committee would like to remind all the Club’s coaches who are massaging athletes of the UKA guidelines to ensure that they hold the appropriate qualifications before massaging athletes.

4. Professional Standards : Code of Conduct for coaches
4.1 As a responsible athletics coach it is a condition of the coach licence that the Coach will :
section 4.1 (xi) not engage in the massage of an athlete under the age of 18 years , and UKA strongly recommends that a coach does not engage in the massage of an athlete over the age of 18 years , unless the Coach holds a qualification in sports massage or other relevant qualification from a recognised body or authority .
