LATEST – REGRETFULLY THE MEETING WHICH WAS DUE TO BE HELD IN JANUARY 2021 HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE BECAUSE OF THE ONGOING COVID-19 PANDEMIC .

2020 GREAT NEWS … THE METASWITCH INDOOR GAMES RETURNS TO LEE VALLEY AT THE END OF THE YEAR … LOOK OUT FOR THE DATE WHICH WILL FOLLOW IN JANUARY 2021 …

REPORT ON THE 2019 EVENT HELD AT LEE VALLEY ON SATURDAY
With Europen Indoor Championship qualifying in mind there was a world class turn out in the Mens 60m event . Andrew Robertson (Sale) won all 3 rounds held with a best of 6.64s , with John  Otugade (Shaftesbury) just inches behind in 6.65s , and local star Dwain Chambers  (Belgrave) 3rd in 6.69s which bettered his own British Masters record by one-tenth of a second .

In the Womens 800m there was a great run by Imogen Hadley (Blackheath & Bromley) , who is still under 15 , winning in 2m 18.23s . Clare Elms (Dulwich Runners) finished strongly in 3rd place to smash the World Masters W55 record in 2m 25.89s .

Ben Snaith (Newham & EB) won the mixed 400m in an excellent time of 47.78s with Phillipa Lowe in 4th place with a very fast time of 52.98s .

On the field there was  some excellent Triple Jumping from Nathan Fox (Shaftesbury) and Michael Puplampu (Newham & EB) who both leapt 16.01m .Akin Coward (Shaftesbury) won the High Jump clearing 2.05m .

There were also good wins for Enfield & Haringey athletes who both performed personal bests . Akwasi Banahen ran a pb of 7.05s to win the M17 60m and Joshua Sterling- Nelson won the Mens Long Jump 9with a leap of 6.66m .

2018 Report

There was some quality competition in the Metaswitch Indoor Games meeting held at Lee Valley on Saturday 30th December 2017.
Top performances came in the 60m Hurdles event with E&H club athletes Khai Riley LaBorde winning the Senior Mens event (7.88s) and Daniel Knight winning the M17 event in 8.12s , which is the 4th fastest time in the UK this year. The highlight was the run by Croydon athlete Marcia Sey who won the W17 event in 8.46s which places her
2nd on the UK All-Time List.
In the 800m event there were quality wins from Chloe Sharp (Dartford 2m 13.46s) in the womens race and Yusuf Bizimana (Victoria Park & Tower Hamlets 1 55.22s) in the mens race.
Arguably the finest performance of the day came in the final event the mens 200m , with Crawley athlete Niclas Baker winning in 22.10s which equals David Telfer-James meeting record set in the inaugural meeting held in 2006. Teenage E&H athlete Salome Japal was a quality winner in the womens event (25.57s).
Highlights on the field were Joel Grenfell (Peterborough) winning the mens Long Jump with 7.03m and Georgia Nwawulor (Harrow) winning the womens High Jump on count back over Jade O’Dowda (Oxford City) , both athletes clearing 1.68m .
